What we do . .

SNAAP supports parents and carers of children with additional needs and disabilities.

We are here to :
  • •  Provide clear information
  • •  Offer emotional and practical support
  • •  Help you feel less alone

Our focus is on the whole family, not just the child.

We aim to give you the right support, at the time you need it most.

If you have a child aged 0–25 with any additional need or disability and live in the Canterbury District, you can access our services.

NB : You do not need a diagnosis or referral.

SNAAP - The team

Who we are

SNAAP was started in 2003 by a group of parents who wanted to make a difference and realised that they were not alone in feeling isolated and frustrated. With the help of Contact a Family, who carried out a consultation that highlighted a lack of support and information as well as limited leisure opportunities, SNAAP was born. Our Manager, Carrie Wood, is one of those founding members and helped make SNAAP the charity that it is today.
