As you may be aware, SNAAP services have been heavily effected by the bad weather conditions. We therefore feel this would be a good time to remind members of our severe weather policy!
SNAAP recognises that from time to time Canterbury and its surrounding areas may experience severe weather, for example heavy snowfalls, which can cause risks in running our clubs/events. In the event of adverse weather conditions, SNAAP will always do their best to continue the clubs/events as scheduled. However, if it is assessed as not safe to run we will be left with no option then to cancel. We also have to assess whether staff who have to travel a distance to get to the venue would be able to do so and return home again safely.
As I’m sure you will be able to appreciate, in the event of a club/event being cancelled, we would need to contact many parents. This can therefore be a lengthy procedure and we may not always be able to contact you. We therefore ask that if you know of severe weather, e.g. snow, even if you are not experiencing this in your area; please check the SNAAP website (www.snaap.org.uk) this will advise on any alterations or cancellations to our clubs/events.
If you do not have access to a computer to be able to do this, please let a member of SNAAP staff know so that we can add you to a call list.
If you would like to contact SNAAP staff regarding a club that is running you can do so on 07985 407 672. However, please bare in mind that the phone line can be busy as many parents may be trying to contact us.
If you do not see any advice on the website and you are experiencing severe weather in your area please contact the SNAAP mobile (07985 407 672) to notify us as we may not be aware of this.
